The Pedal Pusher is the latest quirky oasis to appear in SoMo (South of Moorhouse) on Lincoln Road. Its bright, distinctive décor from the vintage bike atop the entrance to the old school, bicycle seat bar stools and funky light fittings all pay homage to Christchurch’s cycling heyday.
You are spoilt for choice with The Pedal Pusher’s menu. It has everything from light meals and brunch, to mains, pizza and a kids’ menu. So why not enjoy some Akaroa Salmon or grass-fed beef from Leeston’s multi-award winning Ellesmere Butchery.
The $50 platter is also a great option, grab a couple of friends and share a selection of cured meats, smoked salmon, chicken wings, New Zealand cheeses, olives, fire roasted peppers and chutney…divine! Wash it all down with some Monteiths or wine from their extensive selection and you will have well and truly escaped the race.
If that isn’t enough to convince you, and simply writing about it has whet my appetite. The Pedal Pusher also has some great specials with $15 ribs on Fridays and $15 fish ‘n’ chips on Tuesdays along with plenty more in-between. Live music will entertain you on Wednesdays and Sundays.
So get on your bike, it pays to book at the weekend, and let the world roll on by at The Pedal Pusher.
