For an authentic taste of teppan yaki, @Tony’s in Ferrymead is a great place to start. The dimly lit restaurant is a casual place, simple yet elegant. Sit yourself down on a stool and watch the chefs weave their magic with morsels of fresh fish and vegetables, right before your eyes.
The service here is prompt and attentive but don’t feel pressured to scoff down your meal. The menu is a blend of traditional Japanese dishes like sashimi, tempura and tataki. If the budget is limited, grab a bite of sushi (at $11 for 8 pieces) and you’ll leave satisfied.
